Some of you may be saying "Another Jeep Site?!?!?!"

About 4 years ago after a brush with a category 5 hurricane and evacuation traffic jam where people went 5 miles in 12 hours I decided it was time to do something with my Jeep.
One of the first things I did was search the Internet for information. It wasn't until I started searching for symptons and solutions with strange noises coming from my Jeep that I found a Jeep site that was created specifically for the model Jeep I had, the Jeep XJ. It was NAXJA.org. It was a great resource for information, and I felt that I had received so much help that I should become a member to help give back, keep the site going not only for me but for people like me that needed help.
I was a member there for 2 years. I found, or it was suggested to me, another XJ site, CherokeeTalk.com. It was new and much smaller, so it was easier to get to know the other members. I was asked to be a moderator on that site.
I found out about and visited other sites, CherokeeForum.com, Pirate4x4, etc...
I noticed a theme on Naxja, CherokeeForum, and certainly Pirate, it was one of disdain of people that didn't know as much they should, or asked a question that had been asked before, you know without searching.
Being pretty new to the whole Jeep off road thing myself, I felt bad for those poor bastards that were chewed on by other members. Soon I started seeing a repeating theme on new posts... "I've searched and I cannot find the answer..." "Please don't flame me but after searching and searching I cannot find the exact help I need..."
Then there were those others that were just called stupid, or at least made to feel that way.
Is that really the way we want to treat people that are trying to learn? Yeah I know there are those out there that will never look up the word they are trying to spell when there is someone that can just ask how to spell it.
I like to think that people are generally better than that and if you can get them in the right mind set, and know what the specific key words are they can start finding out the answers themselves.
I have long been in the I.T. field and thought to myself it is silly that I am a moderator on a Jeep Cherokee site when I could just run my own and run it the way I think it should be run. I thought it might take about a week to get everything set up and running, but to my surprised it took me about a day.
xjtalk.com was born! I have always been interested in Wranglers, and in fact was about to buy a 1998 TJ when we switched to the XJ because of our small children at the time. Starting up TJTalk.com was a natural! After about a year with no so much attention I expanded the site to all Wranglers, and we changed the name to WranglerTalk.com.
What you should expect here is there are no dumb questions. If you don't want to search for the answer, we will. We are here to help you and hopefully have a little entertainment alone the way. Why? Simple. I cannot control all the other Jeep sites on the Internet, but I can control this one.
If my idea here is a good one then eventually the other sites will notice and will change their policies. The will start taking steps to have their members treat each other with respect.

There are a millions different ways we can fail here. It's really up to you. Your choice to join, your choice to participate. I hope you'll choose to be a member and get in here and help and share.
