Default Ocala National Forest

Joined Lake County Jeep Club for a trail ride through the Ocala National Forest here in Central Florida. Had a blast with a great group of people and got to see some great rigs.

Due to the recent rains some of the sections of the trails were very wet. I managed to find a hole that sucked me in almost right away but I didn't feel as bad when not even two minutes later a YJ on 37's couldn't get through and had to be pulled out as well.

That looks like it was a good time... However I'm a little apprehensive about water and mud...

Both were not bad but I have traveled on those trails several times before. The pictures of myself and the YJ the area we were in was actually not that deep even though I have 33's and he had at least 35's it was just issues due to ruts.I can understand your hesitation if you haven't made any preparations to your JK.

Yeah I'm pretty much still stock... JKU Rubicon... and it's my DD... and I haven't even made a full year's payment on it yet... I'm a little timid.

Don't blame you there. I never give anyone a hard time or push them to take a route they are not comfortable taking or if they take the by pass. Most JK owners I come across don't have the personal skills, knowledge of their vehicle capabilities and time on the trails to realize what can be accomplished. I've got two female friends I wheel with and wrench on their rides and they have in the last two years grown tremendously in their confidence and skill level. You may be stock but your Rubicon is an extremely capable vehicle that once your confidence and knowledge increases will become that much greater.

That's what I keep hearing... It's all about my confidence... that will come with practice I guess.
